PRESIDENTIAL aspirant, Elishama Rosemary Ideh has said Nigerians need a leader who can combine integrity and intelligence to address the multifaceted problems plaguing the country. Elishama who declared her interest for the plum job at a press conference in Abuja said it was unfortunate that the President Buhari led All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to live up to the expectations of Nigerians.
Elishama who is aspiring for the exalted seat on the platform of the Alliance for a New Nigeria (ANN) referred to President Buhari’s inability to tackle the spate of insecurity in the country, youth unemployment, poverty and infrastructural decay to burress her claims. She believes she has the wherewithal to correct the inadequacies of the President Buhari led administration. Elishama promised to reform the country’s revenue generation and allocation structure, including federal tax regimes if given opportunity as president of Nigeria.
“My administration is determined, from the very first day of our assumption of office, to work towards reducing the cost and simplifying the processes and procedures of doing business anywhere in Nigeria, so that local and foreign investors to thrive. We will work together to ensure fair remuneration in terms of wages, welfare packages and retirement benefits within the limits of our means. Periodic wage increase will be carried out, not on sentiment, emotional or even humanitarian ground but always according to our production capacity and corresponding revenues,” she promised.
