Senate Presidency Contest: Ahmed Lawan Gets Endorsement Of 62 Senators

The election of Ahmed Lawan may be an easy ride when 9th National Assembly is inaugurated on Tuesday next week, as senators-elect on Saturday in Abuja endorsed him as unopposed to contest as Senate President.

The campaign group Chairman, Senator Yahaya Abdullahi from Kebbi, a second timer, explained that they proactively nominated Ahmed Lawan to avoid a repeat of what happened in 2015.

Secretary of the Campaign group, Senator Jibrin Barau called names of Senators that have so far endorsed Ahmed Lawan’s candidacy.

The roll call has APC Senators elect as 62, YPP 1 and PDP 1
