The Head of National Office (HNO) of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Mr. Patrick Areghan, on September 8 led his management to pay a courtesy visit to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The WAEC team used the opportunity offered by the official visit to solicit the cooperation of the Nigeria Police Forces’ assistance in tracking, arresting and prosecuting of all the perpetrators of examination malpractice in the ongoing WASSCE for School Candidates, 2020;
WAEC also sought more help from the IGP in the fight against ‘rogue websites’ by using the Nigeria Police Cyber Crime Unit.
The WAEC helmsman expressed confidence that the coming weeks will witness a strong collaboration between the Council and the Nigeria Police Force.
