Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has extended a heartfelt congratulations to Nigeria’s former Minister of Transportation and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, for his successl at the November 2023 Bar (Part ll) finals of the Nigerian Law School and his scheduled Call to the Bar as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on Monday 5th March, 2024 at the Body of Benchers (BoB) Complex, Abuja.
In a message of felicitation made available to the media, Eze said Amaechi’s can-do spirit; is a veritable factor in his life’s journey which propels him to embrace challenges with the daring of a stuntman.
He said Amaechi’s success at the Bar Finals has birthed into reality the unquenchable dream of becoming a member of the Bench, indicating that whatever dream a committed man of vision like the former Transportation Minister who does not believe in impossibility, sets to accomplish, it is possible with the support of the divine.
He hinted that behind the harsh arena of practical politics where the former Rivers Governor has been a major player since 1999, the one time Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assemby, RVHA, is deeply engrossed in academics; and in addition to his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Studies, he has acquired a Master of Arts in African Literature and LLB in Law. Currently the former Minister is an LLM Student in Corporate and Company law at Kings College London.
With a heart of gratitude, Chef Eze wrote …“Hearty Congratulations my beloved leader, best friend and associate.”
The APC Chief prayed God to ceaselessly bless and guide the former Governor as he continues to break new grounds and record more feats.
On the fictitious narrative earlier peddled by mischief makers that Gov. Amaechi purchased a Law degree at Baze University, Chief Eze agreed to the extent that the degree was purchased with the currency of hard work, dedication to studies, commitment to class activities and punctuality to class all of which virtues make a serious student.
Responding to the efforts by naysayers vilipending this great feat by Amaechi, Eze said such indulgences smacks of ill-will and can only emanate from those threatened by his continuously rising profile of the former Minister.
Eze recalled that Amaechi efficiently balanced his studies during his LL.B days at Baze with his very busy schedules as then member of the Federal Executive Council viz-the Minister of Transportation – attending Council meetings, ensuring that all files before him were critically scrutinized, supervising all projects under his watch and ensuring strict compliance to specification by contractors handling projects under his Ministry.
With the load of academic works during his study days at Baze, Chief Eze said Amaechi never fell short of his duties as Minister, so much so that he earned himself the Best Minister under the dispensation and the true Face of the President Buhari Administration.
In fact, His feats both as a Governor of Rivers State and Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are legendary and still stand as a mystery.
The party chieftain further recalled the few weeks he decided to monitor this machine in human form, “I observed that during his days as a student of Law, he started his day by 4am when he would always wake up to attend to files and this he did till 7am, by which time he would be in his office. He always arrived his office before any other staff of his Ministry and by 8am to 10am he presided over one meeting or the other and by 10.30am he was off to School and dismissed by 5pm and then back to his Ministry to attend to other issues. By 11pm he retires to his residence to attend to associates that gathered from many States.
“Amaechi had very little or no time for sleep as he went to bed by 12.30am and most times by 3am to commence activities for the next day.
“The fact remains that the few weeks I stayed, I was rushed to hospital and I told him that I was not sure if I would ever be back to his residence for any reason. I sincerely pity most of his aides because it baffles me how they survive the routine of this machine.”
He said it gladdens his heart and that of members of his family to understand that the former Rivers Governor is finally set to become a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court upon his enrollment after he is Called to the Bar Monday March 5, 2024, having met all the requirements.
Eze expressed profound gratitude to all those who sent iny congratulatory and goodwill messages since this latest achievement was made public.
