Amotekun: Fani-Kayode Calls Tinubu’s Reaction “Wishy Washy”
By Sola Adeyemi, Asst News Edidor
Forthright Femi Fani-Kayode , who served as Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, has described the comment of All Progressives Congress, APC’s leader, Bola Tinubu, on the establishment of the Southwest security outfit, Amotekun, as “wishy washy”
The APC leader who had come under a barrage of harsh criticisms for his surprising silence over the raging controversy generated by the recent launch of Operation Amotekun, on Wednesday called for private discussion between the Governors of the South-west and the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mallam Abubakar Malami, to resolve the controversy.
Tinubu went on to argue that the foundation of the country had not been put at risk with the South-west regional security outfit launched by the governors of the zone in a bid to confront the insecurity in their respective states.
Fani-Kayode had, however, differed sharply with Tinubu’s reaction on Twitter, where he wrote, ”I read BAT’s wishy washy statement on Amotekun & his futile attempt to defend the FG. He should stop trying to defend the indefensible.
”If by now he does not know that the FG openly supports, encourages & protects those that kill our people then he is far dumber than I thought.”
