The students, and teachers of Apple Orchard School were abuzz with excitement and pride on Thursday July 11, 2024 as the institution celebrated the graduation of its kindergarten 2 and basic 5 class. The event marked a significant milestone for the students, their families, and the school.
The ceremony, held in “Nobis Events Centre” a multipurpose event theatre , began with a procession led by the school band, playing a stirring rendition of “The school’s anthem .” Graduates, adorned in the traditional graduation caps and gowns, marched in to the applause of proud parents, friends, and teachers.
Dr. UGOCHINYERE NDURUE the director, Apple Orchard schools delivered the opening address, reflecting on the journey of the graduating class . “To our kindergarten 2 graduates, today marks the completion of your early childhood education and to our basic 5 graduates, today represents the culmination of years of hardwork and perseverance ” she said. “You have faced challenges, embraced opportunities and developed a love for learning. As you transition to secondary school, remember the values and friendships you have nurtured here. They will serve you well in your future endeavors”.
Principal Blessing Offirjindu, gave an inspiring speech about the importance of perseverance and staying true to oneself. “As the new principal Apple Orchard School, i am filled with immense pride and joy to witness your growth, hardwork and dedication culminate in this momentous occasion ,” Mrs Blessing said. “As you step into the world beyond these school walls, remember that the education you have received here is not just about facts and figures but about shaping your character, fostering creativity and igniting your passion for lifelong learning.”
The ceremony also featured a heartfelt speech by Miss Lydia Okoro ,Manager, Apple Orchard School. Miss Lydia, who was honored with a standing ovation, shared anecdotes and words of wisdom, urging graduates to pursue their passions and remain lifelong learners.
Special awards were presented to several students for outstanding achievements that session.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of graduation certificates. Each graduate’s name was called, and they walked across the stage to receive their certificate from Principal Blessing, accompanied by cheers and applause from the audience.
The ceremony concluded with a reception where families and friends mingled, enjoyed refreshments, and took photos to commemorate the day. The graduates, and students shared laughter as they reminisced about their time at Apple Orchard School and looked ahead to their future endeavors.
