The political crisis in Rivers State has degenerated to war of words and the Chairman of Ikwere local government area, Samuel Nwanosike has fired the first shot at the Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Addressing his supporters at Omerelu Community in a a video he posted on his X (formerly twitter) account, Nwanosike said he has taken it upon himself to defend his principal, the former governor of the state, Nyesom Wike anytime the hirings of incumbent Fubara insults the former.
The council chairman said he’s specifically addresing Chijioke Ihunwo, the Chairman of Rivers State Youth Council whom he alleged, is hiding under Fubara, a man that comes from 10 wards (speaking about the numerical strength of the Governor’s local government).
“…anyday the likes of Chijioke sent by Fubara insults Wike, I’ll insult Fubara, so today, Fubara is a foolish Governor, he’s not a ‘mumu’ Governor but a foolish Governor because since he took office in May 29th, he has done nothing for Rivers people.
He challenged Fubara to show them what he has done since he took office other than bribing people unlike Wike who started working from his first day in office, stressing that “Wike is the pride of the Rivers people and former Governor Odili said so.”
Speaking further, Nwanosike maintained that the allegation that Wike wants to pocket Rivers State is far from the truth because the “man Siminalayi Fubara is very naive and doesn’t know what governance is all about. If he knows what governance is all about, by now, he would have been visiting Rivers State local government by local government.
“Go and look at Igirita roundabout by Igirita market by Eleka Road; deathtrap, can’t move. Kidnapping everywhere in Rivers State and you say you’re a Governor,” stressing that Fubara has failed, warning them to call those attacking Wike to order.
