Gov. Wike Accuses Rotimi Amaechi Of Amorous Relationship With Wives Of Army Officers
By Gloria Ebenezer, In Port Harcourt
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has alleged that a former Governor of the State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi may be involved in amorous relationship with wives of army officers in the state, stating that may be the reason why he is engaging in the unsolicited defense of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, based in the state.
The governor said it was unfortunate that the Minister made himself the spokesperson of the GOC, while trying to ridicule his (Wike’s) alleged assassination attempt.
Wike made the allegation at a press conference in Port Harcourt on Friday, while previewing Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections.
He said, “It is unfortunate that the Minister of Transportation has become the spokesman of the GOC 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Jamil Sarham.
“I hope his defence of the GOC has no relationship with the wives of the officers because we know him. When he starts defending like this, we hope his eyes are not looking into the homes of the officers.
“Amaechi should defend himself on the weighty allegations made against him by Senator Magnus Abe.
“Amaechi should react to these issues raised by Senator Magnus Abe instead of defending the Nigerian Army.
“It is unfortunate that Amaechi has no shame.”
Wike said it was curious that on February 12, 2019, the same Amaechi had now defending the GOC, had at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Port Harcourt, claimed that the Former Brigade Commander planned to arrest him in 2015.
