HURIWA Wants IGP, PSC To Tell Nigerians Outcome Of Abba Kyari’s Probe
By Florence Ebebe
Advocacy group, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), has questioned the lack of openess in the conduct of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP’S investigative panel which probed the indicted Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.
HURIWA said it was particularly worried that the findings and recommendations of the panel had not been put in public.domain for necessary scrutiny, calling on the IGP to make the outcome of the probe Public.
The Legend recalls that Kyari was accused by a US court of colluding with a notorious fraud kingpin, popularly known as Hushpuppi, recently convicted in the United States.
“The gentleman ABBA Kyari should rather be in a mad rush to go to the court in the USA to clear his name if he believes in his innocence,” HURIWA said.
HURIWA further applauded the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya for placing professionalism and ethical soldiering as his major blueprint in office.
The group urged the COAS not to detract from his avowed commitment, expressed by him in several ways and places since his recent appointment.
