Five pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) kidnapped on Thursday has been rescued by the Ogun State Police Command.
A statement by the spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Saturday afternoon, said the victims have been rescued unhurt.
“The remaining four victims have been rescued unhurt by men of Ogun State Police Command,” Oyeyemi disclosed.
RCCG’s General Overseer,Pastor Enoch Adeboye had at the weekend appealed to his congregation to pray for the release the pastors.
The RCCG ministers were reported to have been abducted on their way to attend the church’s Ministers’ Conference in Lagos.
The General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye announced the abduction on Friday while giving a talk at the Redeemed Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Pastor Adeboye said the abduction took place on Thursday along the Ijebu-Ode axis.
The General Overseer said this is the first time such incident of that magnitude was happening.
“As a father, how do you think I should feel to hear that five of my children have been kidnapped while on their way to attend the Ministers Conference?” he asked rhetorically.
