June 12 Cemented Buhari Credentials As Genuine Democratic Says APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the declaration of June 12 as Democracy Day cemented President Muhammadu Buhari’s credentials as a true and genuine democratic.

Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC National Publicity Secretary, stated this in a statement Thursday night.

The spokesman noted that Buhari “Displayed political will in recognising and appreciating the sacrifices of many Nigerians in the enthronement of democracy in our nation and the ultimate prize paid by the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential Election, Chief Moshood Abiola.”

Issa-Onilu said in the annals of Nigeria’s political trajectory, June 12 would remain a historic day.

He said its recognition as a national holiday was a testament of APC’s appreciation of the huge significance of the day.

The party assured that going forward, the Buhari government would, in words and actions, continue to promote and consolidate on the gains of democratic governance in the country.

It said this is with a view to entrenching its finest ideals on our body polity.

APC called on Nigerians to imbibe this spirit in the overall interest of the nation.
