The lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo 11 constituency of Lagos State, Hon. Jude Idimogu, last Thursday June 30th 2022, held one of the state-wide constituency town hall meetings organized in Lagos as a build up to the forthcoming elections starting in February 2023.
The well attended meeting which was held at the Nnokwa Civc Center in Ejigbo area of Oshod/Isolo LGA was themed ‘2023 General Election: The Imperatives of Permanent Voters Card.’
The town hall meeting which was one of 40 such meetings held across the various constituencies of the state, featured speeches from stakeholders and a question and answer session centered around acquisition and replacement of PVCs, as well as interludes of cultural entertainment.
The chief host of the event, Hon. Idimogu, told the stakeholders that there was the need for residents of the constituency to be adequately prepared for the forthcoming general elections next year, to ensure the success of the civic exercise.
He said the imperatives of the Permanent Voters Card as mentioned in the theme of the town hall meeting is hinged on the need to ensure that residents are eligible to exercise their civic responsibility.
“We engage in active participation in the general elections especially in ensuring that we vote the right, trustworthy, competent and capable candidates to be our leaders and representatives at all levels of government..”
Idimogu went on to trace the landmarks of good leadership in Lagos State, dating back to Alhaji Lateef Jakande era in the second republic to the fourth republic when Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu held sway as governor of the state, which he described as “most significant” in modernizing Lagos State.
The lawmaker, like other speakers urged the participants to ensure they were ready and eligible for voting by getting their PVCs and thanked them for showing presence at the meeting.
