Nigeria’s new Chief of Army Staff, Major Gen. Farouk Yahaya, has said that tackling prevailing security challenges in the country required the joint efforts of stakeholders.
Yahaya disclosed this when he appeared before the joint House of Representatives Committees on Defence and Army for screening on Tuesday in Abuja.
The COAS said he hopes to bring his thirty-six years of experience in the Army to work with other service chiefs and all stakeholders to tackle security challenges in Nigeria.
“It also requires other agencies and stakeholders and as we speak, the former chief has already gathered these as a cornerstone for the achievement of his mandate, you see the composition of the Army, Navy and Air Force including the Police, DSS and Civil Defence and all other stakeholders,” he stated
