Speaking at the official launch of the National Design and Innovation Competition in Abuja’s Presidential Villa, Shettima applauded the ingenuity of Nigerian youths, underscoring their pivotal role in shaping the nation’s destiny. He pledged the federal government’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to their success.
Addressing concerns about the economy, the vice president declared, “The worst is over,” expressing confidence in the naira’s stability in the forthcoming weeks and months. He attributed this positive outlook to the administration’s concerted efforts under President Bola Tinubu, particularly in addressing issues such as food security, nutrition, and insecurity.
Shettima highlighted President Tinubu’s comprehensive strategies to tackle insecurity, ensuring a safer environment for all citizens. Emphasizing the centrality of youth and creativity in Nigeria’s progress, he emphasized that innovation propels manufacturing and underscores Nigeria’s vast potential.
The vice president affirmed the government’s unwavering support for youth entrepreneurship and aspirations, lauding financial institutions for their backing of the creative sector. Additionally, he unveiled plans to integrate young innovators into the government’s $617.7 million Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (i-DICE) program.
