With every passing day, it seems that someone in Meghan Markle’s family is trying to cause a headache for the Duchess of Sussex.
First, it was Markle’s father, Thomas Markle Sr., who for some reason just cannot stop talking to the press about his daughter and her husband, Prince Harry. Now, the former actress’ estranged half-sister, Samantha Grant, who publicly slammed Markle in the past, is speaking to media outlets about a sit-down interview, which she’ll do for the highest bidder.
The Blast reported that Grant is willing to do on-camera interviews and give “dirt” on her royal sibling for a price. The site obtained an email exchange between the 53-year-old and The Domenick Nati Show in which she asks for $1,500. Grant goes on to explain that her “minimum is much higher” but she is willing to settle with the show. She also wrote that she wants to be assured that she is not being “set up by a shock jock who wants to be rude” because she would fire back and “embarrass the host.”
Of course, this all sounds crazy coming from a woman who has not spoken to her half-sibling in several years and is willing to sell her out for a small fee. Therefore, the show refused to pay that and turn down her offer for an interview.
Grant reached out to that program after she went on a Twitter rant and attacked the duchess following their father’s most recent interview. Earlier this week Thomas Markle told The Sun that he could tell his youngest daughter was struggling with how to adapt to the rules of the royal family.
“My father is not an embarrassment for loving his daughter! The Royals are an embarrassment for being so cold,” Grant tweeted. “You should be ashamed of yourselves. How about you pay tribute to your own father?! Enough is enough. Act like a humanitarian act like a woman! If our father dies I’m holding you responsible, Meg!”
Grant then added another tweet directed at the former Suits star writing, “Glad you have so much time to gallivant around paying tribute to others while ignoring your own father! How cold can you be and look in the mirror ? Harry? I guess I was right.”
By his own admission, Thomas Markle has not talked to his daughter and son-in-law since their wedding in May. He was supposed to travel to London for her big day, but a few days before the royal affair it was reported that he worked with a celebrity to stage photos of himself. Still, he was thought to attend and walk Markle down the aisle, however, he had to cancel at the last minute following a heart attack.
Thomas actually said at the time that he started having chest pains after hearing some of the nonsense Grant was telling the press. “I’ve been popping Valium for the pain, especially when I hear about my oldest daughter.”
Now though, they both have been shading Markle and the royals in the media and it’s unclear if and when they’ll ever stop.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not commented on any of the interviews Grant or Markle Sr. have done.
