President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha, famed for her candid comments; has counseled the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to consider anybody outside the fold of the party for political appointment.
She spoke at a dinner to celebrate her husband’s recent victory in his home town Daura, Kastina State, this Thursday.
Aisha, while addressing the visibly delighted women and youths present, noted that the constitution of the party specifies that appointments to offices in an APC led government should go to card-carrying members, positing that the party constitution should be respected.
She said the she appreciated the support that the party received in the last Presidential election, especially from women and youth and assured them that government will do more to improve their lives.
“I wish to thank the women and youth of this country for the number of votes they gave President Buhari in the 2019 election and to assure that he will continue to do his best to make Nigeria a better country.”
One of the guests, Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika praised the electorate for choosing President Buhari, whose integrity, he said, is time-tested, and assured them that Buhari’s second tenure will result in development in all spheres of endeavour.
Sirika commended Aisha for her initiative in engaging women and youth during the presidential campaign, which resulted in the massive votes recorded.
Other guests which included Woman Leader of the APC Women and Youth Presidential Campaign Team, Mrs. Binta Muazu, and Senator Fatuhu Mohammed, representing Daura Zone, also made goodwill remarks.
Wives of the Governor of Katsina state, Zakiyya Masari and the Deputy Governor, Mannir Yakubu and also that of the Minister of Interior, Hadiza Dambazau, also was in attendance.
Some artistes added spice to the occasion with their performance.
