Nigeria’s billionaire businesswoman Folorunsho Alakija and her husband Modupe Alakija have allegedly separated after 30 years of marriage.
It was gathered that the couple, who had been married for 30 years, had encountered significant challenges leading to their separation.
Sources claim the Alakijas, who are parents to four children, no longer reside together in their lavish matrimonial home in the upscale Ikoyi area of Lagos.
While the couple has maintained a united public front befitting their status over the years, a close source alleged that their relationship has been strained for several years.
“Despite their public appearance, the couple’s relationship has been strained for several years, and they have maintained a united front primarily due to their public status,” the source stated.
Neither Folorunsho nor Modupe Alakija has publicly addressed the reported separation as of the time of filing this report.
The Alakijas have been prominent figures in Nigeria’s business and social circles. Folorunsho Alakija is rated as one of the wealthiest black women in the world, with investments spanning oil, real estate, and other sectors. Her husband Modupe is also a successful businessman.
