Breaking: Nigeria’s Army Chief, 11 Others Feared Dead In Military Plane Crash

Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru is feared to have died among 8 other officers in an air crash on Friday.

Attahiru is believed to be on aboard the military aircraft on its way to Kaduna for an official trip.

The legend learnt that Attahiru may have died with his aides, accompanying him in the trip.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, Nigerian Air Force Director of Information confirmed that one of its planes as involved in a crash in a press statement.

“An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport.

“The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained. More details to follow soon”, the spokesman noted.

Attahiru was just recently appointed along other Service Chiefs, which include General Leo Irabor – Chief of Defence Staff; Vice Admiral A. Z. Gambo – Chief of Naval Staff, and Air Marshal I. O. Amao – Chief of Air Staff.
