DSS releases Detained Rights Activist, Chido Onumah

Rights activist and journalist, Chido Onumah, detained by the Department of State Security(DSS) has been released.

DSS had picked up the columnist over the weekend upon his return to Nigeria from Spain where he recently bagged a doctorate in communication studies.

Reacting to his arrest, the DSS had explained that it only interacted with him on a t-shirt he wore on his way into Abuja town from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

Onumah’s release was confirmed this Monday morning by his spokesman, Doyin debayo.
