A video has emerged showing how the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Kemebradikumo Pondei fainted during his appearance before the House of Representatives Committee probing the commission.
Pondei had slumped while being grilled by members of the committee led by Thomas Ereyitomi over alleged financial mismanagement at the NDDC.
It was noticed that the Acting NDDC boss fainted while one of the committee members was talking. This led to the disruption of the hearing as efforts were made to revive him.
Pondei’s collapse had led to a 30-minute adjournment of the session.
Recall that Pondei last week staged a walkout on the committee, stating that the former head of the panel, Mr. Ojo is a man of interest in the ongoing investigation.
The committee again on Friday last week summoned both Prof. Pondei and Sen. Godswill Akpabio, the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, following revelations by the former Acting Managing Director of the Commission, Joy Nunieh.
Akpabio, however, appeared before the committee on Monday.
